Choosing your location

Choosing a location can be hard to do for your family photos, but it doesn’t have to be. I’ve done all the leg work to find some beautiful and varied spots in and around Ponoka to take the stress out of this decision for you.

HERE ARE A FEW THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN SELECTING THE BEST LOCATION FOR YOUR FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION.

1. What does your family like to do for fun? How do you all like to spend your time?

2. Consider the ages of your children. If there is a lot of walking involved, little legs get tired quickly!

3. Take into account the season your session is scheduled for. If we’re working in the fall season, the Battle River Valley shows off some gorgeous colours. If it’s summer, we may want to find some canola in full bloom. In winter, we want to stay somewhere close to vehicles so we can pop in for a quick warm-up!

HERE ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF LOCATIONS PONOKA HAS TO OFFER FOR FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY.

1. TAME. Mowed grass, gentle walks, a mix of trees and grasses, rustic fences … something for everyone with stunning photographic possibilities!

2. WILDISH. A little more off the beaten path, this is a good choice for kids with lots of energy who like to run around, but there are well maintained trails to keep everyone under control.

3. WILDEST. This is a super fun option! Beautiful long grass, tons of room to explore and play and climb, and make memories together. With river valley views, pasture lands, trees, rocks… Beautiful art awaits! Don’t forget the bug spray!

Have a look at my portfolio, too, and consider the different looks you see there, then let me know in your session form which will fit best for you. I can’t wait to see you there!
